There’s something special about capturing a wedding day with a couple who are so obviously filled with joy and love – it makes my job even more fulfilling. Alexis and Chris’ Pittsburgh wedding was one such amazing experience. They were best friends, incredibly in love, and had a phenomenal chemistry that was instantly recognizable as soon as I met them. I had a great time capturing every stunning detail from the special day, from the venue’s stunning architecture and rooftop first look, to the sweet moment they said ‘I do’, and beyond. The venue provided a perfect backdrop for Alexis and Chris’ wonderful union and the hotel was stunning for the portraits. It was a day full of love, laughter, joy, and memories that will keep these two lovebirds smiling for years to come.
Meet Alexis And Chris
Alexis and Chris’ love story is the perfect example of modern romance. What started with a swipe right on Bumble became a beautifully written love story. They had their first date at Modern Cafe – a wonderful start to their happy ever after. For the proposal, Chris decided to keep it classic and planned something in true Pittsburgh fashion: he proposed in Alexis’s home on the Northside. Immediately following this amazing moment Alexis and Chris celebrated on top of scenic Mt. Washington, followed by a Steelers game the day after.
For their favorite date night activity, the couple said, “Pizza Friday!! Usually, we will go out to a local bar for a cocktail then come home, order pizza, snuggle our dog and watch a movie.”
Alexis And Chris’ Pittsburgh Wedding
I started the day photographing the bride and groom as they were getting ready with their tight-knit group of friends and family. Everyone was beaming with joy and anticipation and my couple was especially glowing with happiness. Alexis gleamed in her timeless white dress and Chris looked unbelievably handsome in his suit. What made this even more memorable was that Alexis and Chris decided to do a first look on a rooftop before their ceremony. It wasn’t just beautiful, but also heartfelt and emotional. Seeing Chris for the first time Alexis had tears streaming down her face. Words fall short to express how powerful that moment felt. The bride also had a first look with her bridesmaids and it was so touching seeing the awestruck look of admiration and joy on their faces.
Alexis and Chris’ wedding day was truly something special. The Union Hall at Bar Marco provided the perfect setting for their ceremony, with its exposed brick walls, warm light accents, and cozy feel. Everyone gathered to celebrate the couple’s union as they glowed with happiness the entire time. You could see the sparkle in Alexis’s eye as she declared her everlasting love to Chris. As the couple exchanged their vows, their beaming smiles never left their faces. Everyone in attendance was feeling the emotion of the special moment and it was a beautiful sight to behold.
Alexis and Chris were an absolute dream couple to photograph. The hotel’s interiors gave me ample opportunities for taking some wonderfully creative shots, and the terrace location had breathtaking city views that I used for a variety of stunning couples portraits. When I moved on to capture some city backdrops, these newlyweds didn’t miss a beat – they posed with ease like professionals and were smiling, dancing, and stealing kisses the entire time. It was so fun to watch them in their element, as well as capture their moments together in creative poses that highlighted their natural chemistry. Overall, it was an amazing day filled with incredible moments coming together to create something truly magical that captured their love perfectly.
