As a wedding photographer, the joy I find in freezing the priceless moments of a couple’s grand day is immeasurable. Allyson and Billy’s Pittsburgh wedding was an absolute visual delight. Their day, from start to finish, wrapped in a lilac theme, was a magnificent ode to love and all the beautiful elements that make weddings so extraordinary. The cherry on top? When I asked if they would alter anything about their day, they answered “No”! So, let me take you on a journey of their heartfelt celebration and all the lovely feelings that came with it.
Allyson And Billy’s Pittsburgh Wedding
I could not have been happier starting my day by photographing Allyson and Billy getting ready for their big day. There’s nothing quite like capturing the excitement and anticipation in a couple’s faces as they prepare to join their lives together. Seeing their sweet smiles and the joy they shared with their loved ones was heartwarming. From the stunning details of Allyson’s wedding dress to the sophisticated look of Billy’s black bow tie, there was an undeniable sense of beauty in the air. If ‘love’ needed a visual representation in the dictionary, Allyson and Billy’s photos would undoubtedly make the cut!
I was utterly mesmerized by the beauty of the ceremony setup! It was a breathtaking sight, surrounded by lush greenery, with the backdrop of a beautifully decorated triangle-shaped wedding arbor and the towering skyscraper in the distance. But the real showstopper was Billy’s expression seeing his bride for the first time. Love was written on his face as he watched Allyson walk down the aisle. And Allyson’s eyes twinkled with joy as she made her way towards her soon-to-be husband. It was a beautiful ceremony, as they stood together and said their “I do’s” in front of their friends and family.
After the ceremony, I whisked away the newlyweds for some couples portraits. It’s my favorite part of any wedding day as the couple finally gets a chance to bask in their newlywed bliss, and the pictures always turn out SO amazing! We scouted several picturesque spots for Allyson and Billy, and it was all so exciting. The lovebirds effortlessly posed while keeping their love and joy front and center. They were so in love, and seeing them laughing and smiling was terrific. Soon enough, their wedding party joined in, and everyone had a great time. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were so much fun, and I captured their special bond with the couple.
The venue was impeccably arranged for Allyson and Billy’s reception – every inch of the place was adorned with beautiful décor that perfectly aligned with the couple’s impeccable taste. The guests were beaming with joy, and the energy in the room was electric as Allyson and Billy danced their way into the celebration. I had a wonderful time capturing all of their precious moments, from their first dances to their cake cutting; being able to freeze in time, Billy and Allyson’s magical celebration was an unforgettable experience.
Reliving The Wedding Joy
During our Q&A session, Billy and Allyson told me about their favorite part of wedding planning – sifting through endless inspirational pictures to create their dream wedding. Not to say that planning was all rainbows and butterflies – their budget was a driving force behind some of the decisions they had to make. But on the big day, what stood out to them was looking out at their guests and feeling blessed.
As far as vendors go, this lovely couple couldn’t stop raving about my work: “Amazing work and made us feel so comfortable during all of the photos.” They also gave a shout-out to their beautiful venue at The Wintergarden and the fantastic team at Oakmont Bakery, who made their dream cake a reality.
Ending the session with an impactful answer for all to-be-weds, Allyson and Billy shared, “Savor every moment of the planning process and of your special weekend because it really does fly by.”
