I have been a part of countless beautiful weddings, but Kristen and Jeff’s Pittsburgh wedding stole my heart in a special way. Their attention to detail and fun-loving personalities, especially the addition of their fur baby to the celebration in the sweetest ways possible, made the day truly unforgettable. I’d asked them about their favorite part of planning their wedding, and I loved how they talked about picking the venue and date, which helped them visualize the dream they had for their big day. Being their wedding photographer, I can personally vouch that this day was everything they’d dreamed of and so much more!
Photographing Kristen And Jeff’s Pittsburgh Wedding
I was so excited to get started with Kristen and Jeff’s getting ready moments, and it was incredible, with bursts of love and laughter filling every corner. From Kristen posing with her beautiful bridesmaids and her fur baby, Lily, to Jeff looking as dapper as ever with his groomsmen, it was an absolute pleasure to be surrounded by such warmth and joy. And let me say that Kristen looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress! I even captured the precious moments of her having first looks with her father and bridesmaids.
But the couple’s first look was something else. As I watched Kristen and Jeff share their emotions, I couldn’t help but feel the love and happiness that filled the space. The whole day was perfect, but there was something extra special about this moment. Later, Kristen shared how she had been nervously worried about a lot of things throughout the day- getting married, hosting a large event for family and friends, timekeeping, and other people’s opinions. “But after seeing my soon-to-be husband, all the worries melted away. We would be husband and wife by the end of the day, no matter what. There were small hiccups in the day, but none of them mattered in the end. Now, every time we play with our dog outside under that massive tree, all the feelings and memories come flooding right back.” she added.
“We don’t have kids, but we have a mini golden doodle, Lily, who we love.” Kristen gushed. I was so impressed with how they made sure to include their fur baby in their wedding despite the venue’s restrictions. The way their officiant incorporated a reading about a dog’s love during their ceremony was genuinely heartwarming. It was a beautiful, warm indoor setup, and Kristen and Jeff were absolutely beaming the entire time. Seeing these two lovebirds start their new life chapter as husband and wife, surrounded by their loved ones, was so special.
As I watched Kristen and Jeff’s wedding reception unfold, I couldn’t help but be amazed by their attention to detail. From the cups and napkins featuring their beloved dog Lily’s adorable face to the small figurine perched on their beautiful cake, every detail was a testament to their love and commitment to each other and their fur baby. It was also a wonderful reminder of the importance of the bonds we share with all the creatures in our lives. The energy in the room was absolutely electric as friends and family alike laughed, danced, and celebrated Kristen and Jeff’s big day with so much love and happiness!
Reliving The Wedding Moments
When I asked Kristen for any advice to future brides, she had the sweetest answer, “Don’t second guess yourself too much. Just go with your gut when planning all the little details. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and Etsy trying to figure out the perfect decor, signage, etc; however, in the end, I mainly went with all my original choices. Looking back, I would have saved myself a lot of stress if I had just been a bit more decisive.”
Jeff added, “Looking back, I would probably have splurged on a wedding coordinator. The last few months were stressful, and it was more difficult than I thought it would be to work full-time while trying to finish wedding planning. Thankfully, our venue was all-inclusive, so we just had to pick our main package. We also picked great vendors who helped us.”
Talking about their experience with vendors, they continued, “Honestly, I think we got really lucky with how wonderful our vendors were. Loyalty Entertainment (DJ Lex) really helped us plan out the reception, and they kept the dance floor busy all night. Dormont Florist was so easy to work with. We got nervous looking at quotes for florals, given that many companies have high minimum rates, but Dormont Florist was able to work with our budget, and they didn’t mind us making adjustments to our floral plans as our wedding day got closer.”
