I’ve always been a big fan of weddings, and they’re such interesting events to photograph. It’s so much fun to photograph all the emotions of the day, from the excitement of getting ready with the bridal party and the laughter and tears during the ceremony to the joy of celebrating with family and friends. Even though all weddings are about the union of two people, each one is special and unique – at least for me. I had such a great time photographing Georgia and Kosta’s wedding. The couple was surrounded by their wonderful family and friends who were such amazing people to work with. Here are some highlights from their Pittsburgh wedding.
Meet Georgia And Kosta
When asked about their love story, Georgia and Kosta recalled that they were first introduced at a family baptism back in 2015. But it wasn’t until the spring of 2017, at another baptism, that they started getting to know each other. “After almost a year of getting to know each other, Kosta asked me out in spring of 2018. We’ve been doing long distance the whole time, seeing each other about once a month while I was in medical school in Morgantown WV, and he was working in Cleveland as an accountant. The rest is history!”
Talking about their proposal, my couple recalled, “We recreated part of our very first date in Pittsburgh as part of our 3-year dating-anniversary celebration. We went to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Art in Oakland and walked to Schenley park.” Georgia gushed, “We sat on a bench overlooking the park for a while, and then on the way down from the top, Kosta wanted to “take a picture of me” facing the skyline. And I turned around when he was “done” and that is when I saw him on one knee!”
After this happened, Georgia went to say that since it was just the two of them, some students were kind enough to offer to take their photographs. And that the surprises did not end that night! “Kosta then told me that they were off to a “private dining experience,” which ended up being a surprise dinner/engagement celebration with both of our immediate families. The day went so fast, but it was a day to remember!” Proposals are indeed special, and for my sweet couple, this was even more special with all the surprises Kosta had planned. Sweet romance will never go out of style!
Georgia And Kosta’s Pittsburgh Wedding
I started the day photographing my couple getting ready for their big day. The bride looked absolutely radiant in her wedding dress, and the groom looked dashing in his tuxedo. The groom got ready with his best people by his side, surrounded by the energy and laughter of his family members as they sang and played instruments.
After taking some solo shots of the bride and groom, it was time for the couples portraits. They were absolutely natural in front of the camera, and I am so happy with how their love really reflects in their photos – just genuine and fuss-free. The “we are getting married!” glow on their faces definitely helped to brighten up the photos. Later on, I took family portraits and the couple’s photos with their wedding party as well.
Georgia and Kosta’s church wedding ceremony was a beautiful experience to watch and photograph. The church had stunning backdrops that made for amazing photographs. The lighting was perfect, and the colors were just right. My beautiful couple were surrounded by their friends and family, all of whom were beaming with joy. Georgia’s father walked her down the aisle, and the groom got teary-eyed as he saw his beautiful bride coming towards him. A classic wedding day moment I always look forward to photographing.
I had such a great time photographing Georgia and Kosta’s wedding! The sweet couple looked so in love as they had their first dance as husband and wife. The wedding party and the family members were some of the most fun I’ve come across. They certainly knew how to party! Everyone danced the night away, and I loved seeing the joy on everyone’s faces as they celebrated Georgia and Kosta’s special day together.
