As a wedding photographer, there is something so special about seeing two people who are so in love committing to spending the rest of their lives together. I also love seeing all the happy interactions between the guests. Everyone comes together to celebrate the couple and their new life together, and it is just such a happy and magical atmosphere. I was really able to capture some amazing moments at Cassie and Nick’s wedding. There were so many emotional moments, and Cassie and Nick looked absolutely beautiful together. It was just an all-around wonderful day, and I am so grateful that I was able to capture it for them.
Cassie and Nick’s Proposal Story
When Cassie and Nick contacted me about photographing their wedding, I was excited to learn more about them. I asked them how they met, and they told me that they’re college sweethearts! Cassie and Nick went to the University of Pittsburgh and met each other through Greek Life. And guess what!? These two sweethearts love to go out dancing! After narrating their sweet dating story, I asked Nick about when he thought Cassie was the one and how he proposed to her.
He said, “It was a day packed full of activities. Which was great as it took my mind off of the inevitable moment coming up.” He continued, “That night at dinner, I was starting to get a bit nervous, and Cassie started to catch on. Not even looking at the dessert menu? Odd. Not letting her use my phone for music in the car? Double odd. What she didn’t know was the swirling thoughts that were going through my head to make sure everything was perfect.” Nick, if you’re reading this, I totally understand how you felt, proposing to the love of your life can make you anxious. But hey! You did it! And you did it so phenomenally!
Nick arranged for a private and romantic proposal with some creative ideas up his sleeve. As they went for a walk, music began to play softly, Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran, and Cassie was quick to recognize it. Nick continued to tell me, “All of a sudden, the dimly-lit narrow tree path opened up to a wide open square. Everything was calm, then a moment I’ll never forget. She noticed the pictures. Pictures of us strung up on the lights.” After hearing their love story, I knew their wedding was going to be as lovely as these two lovebirds, and it certainly was!
Cassie and Nick’s Wedding
Cassie enjoyed some time with her bridal party as they clinked glasses and had some celebratory drinks. The bridesmaids also helped her get into her stunning wedding dress. Everything about her looked perfect – from her hair and makeup to her dress. The bride was simply radiant.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen a lot of first looks. But I have to say, Cassie’s double first look was something special. After getting all dressed up, Cassie did a first look with her bridesmaids. They looked at her in such pure awe, and you could see the love and excitement in their eyes. Then, she did a first look with her to-be husband, Nick. He got emotional as he saw her and hugged her tightly.
Cassie and Nick’s wedding was a beautiful outdoor affair. We were in the lap of nature, and the setting couldn’t have been more incredible. The lush greenery in the backdrop added to the aesthetics of their wedding images, and the weather was ideal, with clear blue skies and bright sunshine.
The couple’s ceremony was so charming, with the sun shining down on them as they said their vows. The wedding arch was decorated with flowers that matched Cassie’s bouquet. The whole scene was just breathtaking. And their first kiss as husband and wife was even more magical. Nick dipped Cassie and sealed their marriage with a fairy tale kiss, with everyone cheering as the new Mr. and Mrs. Salter tied the knot.
Nick and Cassie’s wedding reception was truly a one-of-a-kind event. From the wedding cake to the champagne glasses – everything was personalized. They had a romantic first dance, and later on, in the evening, everyone joined in on the fun and celebrated the couple’s marriage with lots of dancing. And I feel privileged to have been able to capture it all on my camera.
