Photographing a wedding and witnessing two people start their lives together is always a joy. Each wedding has its charm, and being a part of these happy, intimate moments always makes me feel so lucky. Greg and Jenn’s Avalon Grand Resort wedding was a beautiful example! The couple tied the knot at a church and celebrated their marriage at the stunning resort in Warren, Ohio. Thanks to the fantastic weather, the lighting was spot on and made my job a breeze, allowing me to capture some truly stunning photos of everyone soaking in the wedding merriment. Everything about that day was picture-perfect!
Jenn & Greg’s Avalon Grand Resort Wedding
Greg and Jenn’s wedding was everything I knew it would be: fun, full of love, and so wonderfully unique. Every time I took a picture of the bride, groom, and their loved ones, they would look at the camera with their thousand-watt smiles, and their love would shine through. I began Jenn and Greg’s wedding photography with the getting ready moments.
Jenn had thoughtfully arranged matching blue shirts for her girl squad to wear before they switched into their elegant bridesmaid’s dresses. As for Jenn herself, she chose a breathtaking wedding dress that featured an exquisite train. And when she donned her dress, she looked like a vision in white. Jenn’s mom and dad came in to see how she was doing and kissed her on the cheek to tell how proud they were of her.
Jenn and Greg’s wedding ceremony took place in a church. Standing tall and handsome in his suit, Greg patiently waited for Jenn. And then THE moment finally arrived! Jenn gracefully walked down the aisle with her father, and Greg was SO happy to see her. The couple exchanged vows and wowed everyone with a dramatic dip and kiss as they left the church – it was epic! After tying the knot, everyone headed to Avalon Grand Resort for the reception.
As we reached the venue, I took the opportunity to get some more group and couples portraits. Greg and Jenn picked the perfect spot for their wedding celebrations. The venue was spectacular, with towering trees and a fresh pond with a fountain in the middle! The weather was just right, and the natural lighting helped me get those charming light and airy shots that looked straight out of a fairytale. Greg and Jenn were kissing, smiling, and warmly embracing each other, giving me the loveliest moments to photograph.
The Wedding Reception
An absolute masterpiece, Jenn and Greg’s had a three-tier wedding cake decorated with pink and white roses and white frosting (yum!). The highlight of the evening was all the wedding reception ideas that Greg and Jenn had so thoughtfully planned. They had this cute bright red rotary telephone where guests could record their wedding greeting for the couple. Such a sweet idea!
Talking about sweets – there were so many treats to choose from! Jenn and Greg had arranged for an entire table (or two!) filled with cookies and whatnot! Seriously, these guys went above and beyond to make their wedding memorable and uniquely theirs. There was an incredible amount of love and sugar! Jenn and Greg, if you’re reading this, you both aced every aspect! This special day was full of many emotional and fun moments, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it all.
Reminiscing Their Wedding Day
Jenn and Greg enjoyed the planning process, collaborating with amazing vendors to create a day filled with love and joy. “We loved the process and working with all of our amazing vendors,” the couple said. They had so many unique details and gave a huge shout-out to everyone that made their wedding possible. “The ‘J&G sign’ was done by Vince Thearle, the memory tale of our grandparents, a ‘Cheers Y’all’ sign for the Photo Booth by SteelCity Neon, glow sticks for the dance floor, picture charms of my grandmothers on my boutique, and DIY signs..”
The couple praised their wedding vendors and stated, “Avalon Grand Resort was the most amazing venue. They were so professional, organized, and easy to work with…Bloom Events & Co. floral was incredible… Nicole Medved for hair was incredible! Elite Beauty Productions for make-up that traveled to us that day for ease of getting ready in our hotel suite was awesome. Christian and Jill were the best make-up artists! DJ Joseph Costa was the BEST DJ…We cannot sing his praises enough.”
Talking about their favorite moments, Jenn and Greg reminisced about when they first walked out to the pool, and the band stopped playing the song they were performing and began playing “Going to the Chapel.” They said, “It was something we will never forget.”
Jenn and Greg advise future brides to enjoy the process, emphasizing that the only opinions that matter are yours and your partner’s. And their only wish? To slow down time as the day flew by so quickly.
