A simple and traditional affair, Sara and Nick got married at Westin Pittsburgh in the presence of their loved ones. The bride and groom were so excited about their big day, and photographing Sara and Nick’s wedding was such a beautiful experience for me. Every detail had been carefully planned and executed, and all their friends and family had the most wonderful energy. From the getting ready photos to the first dances – I got to capture some pretty precious moments for the couple on their wedding day.
Meet Sara And Nick
Before I photograph their big day, I love to get to know my couples. I love hearing about how they met, who asked who out, the proposal story, their little quirks – I go all in with each one of them. It not only helps me get a better picture of who they are but also helps them get more comfortable with me, which is always better for the photos.
Sara and Nick have been together since high school. They were good friends for years before they started dating, and their relationship has only grown stronger ever since. Nick romantically proposed to Sara at the top of Mt. Washington, and both of their families were present there to celebrate this new chapter in their lives!
They love food. Like, really looove food. They’re the type of couple that’s always trying out new restaurants and cooking up delicious meals together at home. Not only are they complete foodies, Sara and Nick also describe themselves as social, driven, and fun-loving. And their wedding day was a true reflection of who they are and what they share.
Sara and Nick’s Wedding Day
As a wedding photographer, I always look forward to capturing the bride and groom getting ready on their big day. These are the precious behind-the-scenes moments that only a few close ones get to witness and, of course, me! Plus, the getting ready photos are such a fantastic way to build up a couple’s wedding day story.
I got some great shots of the bridal party, Sara’s mother helping her look her best for the wedding, and the bridesmaids helping her strap on her shoes. Sara wore a gorgeous long church-length veil and looked so simple yet elegant. Her face radiated with happiness as she got ready to marry the love of her life. Nick’s getting ready moments were also so sweet and joyful. His mother helped him put on his boutonniere, and she looked so proud of him.
It was a perfect day for a wedding as Nick and Sara tied the knot in a magnificent church. The altar was adorned with flowers that matched Sara’s bridal bouquet, and the lighting at the altar created a stunning backdrop for the ceremony. Nick’s reaction was priceless when he saw Sara walking down the aisle in her wedding dress. His eyes were shining with joy. It was such a beautiful moment, and I’m so glad that I was able to capture it for them.
After they were pronounced husband and wife, it was time to take some group and couples portraits. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were full of energy, cheering and clapping as Sara and Nick shared a passionate kiss. The soft glow of the sun peeking through the surrounding lush green trees added to the beauty of their wedding pictures. As I took their photos, the newlyweds were kissing, smiling, and warmly embracing each other, giving me the loveliest candid moments to photograph.
An absolute masterpiece, Nick and Sara had a four-tier wedding cake decorated with vibrant flowers. I also enjoyed photographing their first dances. As the newlyweds took to the dance floor, I got some fantastic candid pictures of them. Nick dipped Sara as they danced and they both looked so happy and in love. The father-daughter and mother-son dances were also so memorable as their parents looked so happy and proud of them.
